Bueno, como el HD-DVD es lo que está ocupando la primera plana de muchos sitios de DVD por estos días, me pareció interesante traducir alguna que otra reseña de http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk en forma parcial pero de manera imparcial ; para que quienes no leen inglés puedan entender que como pasó con el DVD, el HD-DVD está en "período de prueba", hay muchos lanzamientos, pero resulta dificil separar la paja del trigo. Como pasó con todos los DVDs editados en 1997 (eran todos una gran cagada para el 2002 aprox.) con el HD-DVD es muy probable que suceda "casi" lo mismo, al menos con una cantidad de títulos y hay que ir manteniéndose informado para no tener que gastar 2 ó 3 veces en la misma película OTRA vez como pasa todo el tiempo con el DVD y sus re-re-ediciones, no ?

HD DVD Presentation

In the past, I've been a little critical of Warner's HD DVDs. Million Dollar Baby and Constantine were both edge enhanced and slightly noise reduced, while Charlie and the Chocolate Factory looked noticeably diffuse (a flaw also affecting the HD broadcast master) and suffered from a few instances of compression artefacts, so I was a little apprehensive about Corpse Bride. Luckily, the results are considerably better than I was expecting - indeed, this is one of the best HD DVDs I've seen so far, beaten only by the majestic Serenity and the flawless Unleashed in terms of visual pizzazz.
En el pasado, había sido crítico de los HD-DVD de Warner. Million Dollar Baby y Constantine tenían contornos realzados y reducción de ruido, Mientras que Charlie y la Fábrica de Chocolate se veia demasiado difuso y sufría defectos de compresión. Afortunadamente, los resultados en La Novia Cadáver son mejor de lo esperado y es de los mejores HD-DVD hasta el momento junto con Serenity y Unleashed en cuanto al aspecto visual.

Edge enhancement is non-existent, contrast is spot-on, colours (in the saturated "Land of the Dead" sequences) are a joy to behold. This is so close to being a perfect transfer, and is marred only by a few mild instances of digital banding in the colours in the background. I feel slightly bad about knocking a mark off the score for these minor problems, but, with my high definition reviews, I want a 10/10-rated transfer to really mean absolute perfection.

Los extras son los mismos que el DVD y no vienen subtitulados, cosa que Warner podría aprender de Universal.
